Dans la région du Bundelkhand, en Inde, un groupe de femmes parmi les plus démunies met en branle une révolution. L’écrivaine et activiste Sampat Pal Devi, et les femmes de son Gulabi Gang (gang des saris roses) s’émancipent et entament une lutte contre les violences sexuelles, l’oppression de caste et la corruption généralisée.
 
In Bundelkhand, India, a revolution is in the making among the poorest of the poor, as Sampat Pal Devi, a writer and activist, together with the fiery women of her Gulabi Gang empower themselves and take up the fight against gender violence, caste oppression and widespread corruption.

Nishtha Jain, née à New Delhi, en Inde, étudie la réalisation au Film and Television Institute of India à Pune. Depuis 2002, elle travaille comme cinéaste indépendante à Mumbai. Ses films ont été projetés dans plusieurs festivals internationaux et ont reçu de nombreux prix.
