MuLa appartient au groupe kayan, du peuple karenni. Son cou est orné des caractéristiques anneaux en or. Sa vie n’a pas été facile, elle a dû quitter son pays natal, la Birmanie, pour chercher refuge en Thaïlande, laissant sa fille unique à la maison. MuLa gagne sa vie en vendant des souvenirs aux touristes, mais la situation financière de la famille est très difficile.
MuLa is from the Kayan people and her neck is adorned with characteristic gold neck rings. Her life has not been easy as she had to leave her native Burma and seek refuge in Thailand, while her only daughter stayed home. MuLa makes her living selling souvenirs to tourists but the family’s financial situation is very difficult.
Diplômée en Cultural Studies (Centre d’études américaines de l’Université de Varsovie), Monika Pawluczuk est aussi diplômée en journalisme (Centre de journalisme de Varsovie), et en cinéma documentaire (Wajda School). Documentariste, journaliste radio et télévision, elle est co-auteur (avec Katarzyna Miller) du livre Being a Woman and Not Going Crazy.
