Heygate Estate, dans le quatier Elephant & Castle, est un grand ensemble urbain majoritairement constitué de logements sociaux destiné à disparaître en 2011 dans le cadre d’une restructuration du centre de Londres. Tourné pendant 4 ans, ce film est le récit d’une épopée immobilière contemporaine qui nous interroge sur la société que nous sommes en train de bâtir, et propose le regard personnel de la cinéaste sur le quartier où elle vit depuis 20 ans.
Four years in the making, Home Sweet Home is a contemporary urban tale portraying the forces at play in the transformation of our cities. It tracks the drama of a massive regeneration scheme unfolding in the heart of London, a personal journey of discovery and questioning of the city the filmmaker chose as her home over 20 years ago. Centred around the now derelict Heygate Estate, Home Sweet Home, offers an intimate narrative of urban and social transformation, and asks: what kind of society are we really building?
Enrica Colusso a étudié le cinéma à Rome, où elle a commencé sa carrière. En 1988, elle participe aux Ateliers de réalisation cinématographique Varan (Paris). Diplômée en 1995 de la National Film and Television School (Royaume-Uni), elle a réalisé plusieurs documentaires primés. Depuis 2003, elle enseigne le cinéma à l’Université de Roehampton, à Londres.
